The birth certificate reads Bakura Ryou
But You Better Call Me
I've Seen the World For 16-17 years
As I've Been Around Since September, 2nd
Making Myself Known As student
I Duel With occult/undead/demon-themed decks
Bakura has had several differing decks throughout the series, but the main traits in all of them seem to be the use of undead monsters and demons, while he focuses, however, on direct affects to life-points and on disabling or incapacitating the opponent's monsters. Actually, even going as far as using the opponent's monsters in his favor or claiming them for his own has been seen to be his tactic almost every time. He obviously plans ahead when he makes his move, because many of his cards are only suitable for certain set-ups. Notably, most of his monster cards are Effect Monsters rather than attack Monsters. He has used a wide assortment of spell cards to complement those, and some trap cards.

◊ && This Face is Going Somewhere ◊
Bakura has, it is said, slightly effeminate looks. Regardless of whether that's true or not, he is of a very frail build, tall and extremely thin. For the 176 centimeters he has in height (which is around 5'9"), he only weighs 52 kilograms (equivalent to 114 lbs). Additionally, he seems to be quite pale, but not exceedingly and unnaturally so. This combination also causes him to have somewhat sharp, angular features. Although Ryou's dreamier expressions soften them in many cases, the display of Yami no Bakura's smug and arrogant personality often sharpens them even more, to the point where he's able to look cruel and intimidating.
Bakura's eyes are brown in color, a shade slightly more on the light side than the dark side, and quite large if one compares him to most other boys his age, but still nothing to rival those of a girl. His hair is white, fairly thick and seemingly well-cared for, although Bakura seems not to pay attention to it at all. As far as length goes, it grows shorter progressively from behind, where it's nearly mid-back, to the sides and to his bangs. It has a lot of volume, but generally the strands stay together and lean towards sticking to his head or at least following its general shape in their inclination.
Bakura's main outfit consists of a striped T-shirt in alternating white and blue horizontals, coupled with light blue jeans, simple and lacking even the smallest particular design or decorative pattern of any kind, and a pair of regular sneakers. He usually tops that with another short-sleeved shirt (actually, the sleeves have the potential of being a little longer, but they seem to be rolled upwards), whose color is a weak teal, leaning more towards a very light, dulled green. Of course, when he's at school, he'll be wearing the uniform that everyone else wears there. This means a white shirt, under a deep blue coat, with a pair of pants the same color as the latter, and simple black shoes.
When Yami no Bakura takes over, there are some notable appearance changes. Usually, his eyes narrow to an extent and his general features grow even sharper, in accordance with Yami no Bakura's unfriendly personality. With all of that, his facial expression changes to a considerably more self-assured version. However, all of this depends on various factors and conditions (such as whose company he is in), and he's still capable of softening his composure in order to pretend he's still Ryou. Secondly, and this is less controllable on his part, the hair fans out from his head to the left and right, as the various strands separate more from each other. Also, there is a small change in the outfit as well, the collar of the shirt being usually raised. Sometimes, this piece of his outfit is even replaced by a very similar one, except in a much darker blue than even the stripes on his T-shirt, and slightly longer.

◊ && I’m the Next Great Thing ◊
In Japan, the "personality by blood type" type of analysis is very popular, and it often affects character creation. This is a very important mention here because Bakura seems to be the pure expression of this concept. He's an AB; the positive traits of his bloodline seem to manifest visibly in Bakura Ryou, while the negative traits are more prominent when Yami no Bakura surfaces, but ultimately both of them have all of these. Additionally, AB is described as "the split personalities of the blood groups", so this also fits in very well, since Bakura is the character whose Yami's personality is least like his normal self in the entire series.
Bakura Ryou
This side of the character is where the positive traits of AB are more apparent, while he also retains some of the milder faults. As a consequence, Ryou is, first of all, a very rational person, capable of thinking lucidly in most situations. He analyzes well, won't come to a decision until he's weighed all the options, and is capable of looking past the obvious. He's calm, very down-to-earth, and a nice person who would be willing to have a look at anyone's point of view before casting his vote. At one point, he's seen saying "That's all we can do now." This actually means he's reality-oriented and practical, situation-conscious, focusing on the present time (although he does sometimes advance theories about the near future/outcome).
Ryou is often seen as the first one to try and break up or prevent conflicts, from which one can conclude that he doesn't like to see fights erupt among those around him, especially his friends. He's a trustworthy and generally dependable person, who can be counted upon; he was even willing to sacrifice his life to save Yuugi and the others from Yami no Bakura. Although there was no need for that in the end, there's reason to believe that he would have followed through with this. Overall, he's pretty sociable and easy to like or get along with. And he has a lot of faith that he places in his friends, especially Yuugi, being a lot more stable with it than other people (once he's placed it, he won't take it back even when it starts to look like he was wrong).
Some of the negative traits he retained are his aloof personality, where even though he appears friendly enough, he likes to keep his distance from other people to a degree. He seems like the type that's capable of caring for others, but at the same time isn't likely to show it at all. He often hides his true reactions behind some sort of neutral, facade expression and refuses to be highly disturbed or impressed by anything (he's not as vocal as other people about these things).
Although he is responsible, Ryou can't bear too much at once, from where it results how he panics when something too unexpected and quick enough to render him unable to think it out comes up. He can be pretty inattentive and, as such, clumsy, and sometimes he's honest even when it would be better for the person he's talking to/about if he sugarcoated things a little. He's too nice to hurt anyone on purpose, but he might do it without realizing it. Obviously, this detracts from his overall intelligence, balancing out his excellent qualities.
Yami no Bakura
Bakura's Yami personality, the spirit of the Sennen Ring, is your typical anime villain, also reflecting the negative traits of the AB blood type (it's actually common for anime villains to have this type). He's looking for power, he's self-centered, overestimates himself and his ability sometimes, and he's ruthless, with little to no morals. His sole concern is to use whatever and whoever he can in any beneficial way, in order to reach his goals. He's also very critical of other people, finding many of them to be weaklings, and concentrating on their flaws rather than their qualities when he has to analyze.
Aside from that, however, Yami no Bakura is a genius of manipulation tactics. Like any respectable villain with no regards towards the feelings or concerns of others, he's an expert when it comes to finding people's weak spots an using these to defeat them. He'll even enjoy every single moment of it, since the look of dismay on other people's faces seems to greatly please him. (Here's to how he enjoys locking people in the Shadow Realm or just frightening them. Quite cruel.)
Yami no Bakura does show some respect, although most of it is admittedly addressed to his own persona. For the most part, what will attract this from his part is a display of great dueling skills, such as in Yuugi's case, or later on Yami no Marik's. Even then, however, he does no more than admit his opinion has improved a little, but he still believes himself superior. That speaks volumes of how much of an ego Yami no Bakura has got, even though he's capable of openly admitting a defeat and shrugging it off. For a villain, this is where he ceases to be typical; when he's completely resigned with a defeat instead of going into tantrums. That doesn't mean, however, that he'll be less vengeful next time.
Although he's brilliant, there are circumstances that will greatly detract from Yami no Bakura's total ability. He knows some things, but not all, and although he plans like no other and is able to keep all the little details in mind and calculate perfectly, he hates taking orders. And because of that, and his regard towards advice as pretty much the same thing, he's incapable of working properly with other people. His downfall has repeatedly been his inability to cooperate and form a proper team, because he is quick to backstab or fight with his ally if he feels crossed in the slightest, or if things are going a little unwell. Put bluntly, he's not someone you want on your side any more than you want to be up against.

Keep Away
Bakura Ryou fears (or, well, is just extremely wary about) breaking rules or laws (as demonstrated when they were exploring Pegasus's castle). Also, he's not a very athletic type, so he's generally not fond of things involving physical effort, because it's easy for him to get injured. He panics in front of threats he can clearly see heading towards him. To a smaller degree, he's also likely afraid of Yami no Bakura taking over and putting him in danger (and especially hurting his friends).
Yami no Bakura fears (or, once again, is cautious when dealing with) people or things he believes capable of overpowering him, or circumstances he can't control. That's because he doesn't like to lose, and of course, he's afraid of his plans being thwarted. However, he's a lot of a stronger type than Bakura Ryou, and is much less likely to stress when faced with danger. He's been repeatedly seen just accepting his losses and picking up from wherever he could.
Abilities
Bakura Ryou's best strength is his rational thinking. He's always the one focusing on the present circumstances and assessing the best way to deal with them. He's also very good at hiding things such as his true thoughts or feelings on a certain matter.
Yami no Bakura is a careful planner and good at anticipating other people's moves, or just thinking out enough possibilities to block most of their courses of action. He's also quick to adapt to a situation and reach the most beneficial decision for himself before it's too late.
For more concrete abilities, Bakura is the bearer of the Sennen Ring, which enables him to locate any of the other Sennen Items. Yami no Bakura is also able to locate other goals and targets of his with it, it would seem. He can also use the Ring's power to half-materialize monsters or effects of the cards in his deck, in such a way that they'll be able to affect humans. Additionally, he uses the item to seal souls in the Shadow Realm. The Sennen item also seems to have a link with its bearer (likely through Yami no Bakura's will), since it returned to him even after being tossed away.
Extra
I would just like to note, OOCly, that my portrayal of this character will be focused on accenting the differences between Ryou and Yami. Not only in thought patterns and personality, but when it comes to general demeanor, speech and bearing as well.

◊ && This is a Champion ◊
When she had reached out without a single warning, to return his paper in a manner whose familiarity he was unsure whether to accept or not, Kazuya almost flinched. Almost only, though, because he caught himself in time and stopped that impulse, instead moving his hand to part the book slightly from his chest, enough to let the paper she was giving him back slip into its place with ease. He did, however, look down, and his eyes never stopped staying fixed on her hand, with those impossible-to-not-notice nails. When she was done, he just kept staring at his recovered possession for a few seconds, before being able to shake himself out of his erratic thoughts. It wasn't like he minded being close to others, or being touched, it had only been unexpected, and coming from a girl he had just met, nonetheless. It was one of those things human beings came with. He could have said that he didn't make any difference between males and females, and it would be true to an extent – that was how he wanted to act, at least. But the truth was that people came with that small mechanism in the back of their heads, which made them react differently depending on the gender of whomever they interacted with. So for some reason, it did make a difference that this was a girl currently acting towards him with a familiarity that not even his brother displayed (albeit that was only Eiji's distant character at work). It wasn't anything he should dwell on, however; he had even managed to suppress his shock and take the contact as the normal thing it should have been. Maybe he was becoming too self-conscious, like Eiji… he was sure his brother would have fallen back from that action. Likely, this was just Kazuya's people skills beginning to deteriorate due to not having much contact with those his age lately. He made a mental note to himself to try and socialize more between classes; after all, he couldn't expect to get any better at his English without practicing it some place.
He really didn't know how to respond to what seemed to have been a tease from her part, though, so he was glad when she soon overlooked it, urged by his own concern for how late it was. His comfort didn't last for long, however, since he was struck completely dumb when she grabbed his wrist and pulled at it slightly, before stopping as though in realization. She then spoke again. Kazuya had to strain his will quite a great deal to keep his eyes trained on her face instead of their hands, and also to work through what she had just told him. His brain processed the information quickly, one word being the strongest in the entire sentence: bell. Of course, classes didn't start until the bell rang and they hadn't heard any such sound yet. He was just about to relax, as much as he could, given the circumstances, when his body strained again with the realization of what he had already figured earlier. Her words had managed to inspire safety into him, but he realized that, actually, she was probably in the wrong as well. By what he had assumed earlier, at least, the bell should have made itself heard before he even entered the school grounds, which resulted in the empty courtyard and almost unpopulated hallways, such as the one they were currently all alone in. All those signs were pretty clear enough, and although he hadn't heard the bell himself, he could be almost certain of what he had construed.
"The bell…" he echoed, trying to find some quick way to explain what was going through his mind. "Aa, that…" The fact that his mind had entered a state of semi-panic due to the lack of time didn't help his already meager grasp on the coherence of the English language at all. Finally, he pulled through after two more seconds of mental strain. "I think it already…" He couldn't remember the verb he needed right then, but of what he could figure out, this should be enough to tell her what he meant even without continuing. As such, he concentrated on figuring out which direction his turn had taken him in, and from that on orienting himself as to where he should be going next. The turn he took chasing the paper seemed to have only been the one back towards the exit, so it meant he just had to retrace his steps around the corner behind him and head further along the corridor. Then, he'd have to hurry up the nearest flight of stairs, up to the next floor and head right. He counted in his mind… one… two, three… The class he needed to get to was the fourth, all the way to the end, but still, this was a far better situation than, say, if he had needed to cross over to the school's other wing, like he would for his art classes or for PE.
With that said, though, and not wanting to stall for even one more moment, Kazuya hoped the girl had understood enough to follow him. She had already conveniently grabbed onto his wrist, and although he hadn't been very happy with that at first, due to not knowing how to take it, he could now use this to his advantage. He turned away from her without another word, and began to head off, although he made sure to start slowly, aiming to take her along with him and increase the pace only when she caught on. But he didn't even take two steps before he forced himself back to a stop. He didn't quite have his back on her, due to the fact that she held on, but he wasn't facing her either, so it was necessary to turn his head to look back at her. Embarrassment at his own obliviousness washed over him, but the urgency of the situation didn't allow it to rule, so none of it showed visibly on the outside. Of course, though, how could he have forgotten something like that? He supposed it was due to the general lack of organization he had in everything he did, coupled with the fact that each second he remained here spawned a new pang of guilt for not being in class yet.
At least the words came more clearly now, for some reason. "Oh, I'm sorry, my class is on the second floor, and yours is…?" He left that hanging, waiting for her reply. All along, he had forgotten that he didn't know this person and he had absolutely no idea if he had seen her in any of his classes before or not, especially in English where he had to concentrate on the teacher, not on the other students. He had to admit that the chances of running into a classmate on an empty corridor, out of all possible people, were quite slim. He could definitely not overlook the detail and drag her along, as he had first intended. Although he supposed she would have protested on her own if he had gone too far without remembering this.
