Set back 5,000 years in the past, during the time that Pharaoh Atem ruled the land of Egypt, all is going well over the horizon of the desert. The fall of Atem had never come, a wise sorcerer predicting every move that the enemy would make.
Defeating his enemies, Atem rejoiced with his happiness, his whole dynasty seeming to rejoice with him.
Some, anyway.
In the shadows, the theives and bandits who had hoped for a burned down dynasty snarled, as well as a few of the citizens who disliked their pharaoh. Touzoku-ou, the Theif King, was one of the many to dissaprove of the pharaohs happiness, so he began to plot against him, thinking of more schemes than ever to destroy his reign.
But, beyond the hatred of the theives, the people in the dynasty rejoiced. Anzu, Jounouchi and many others enjoying their freedom.
While they all lived in their happiness, they had no idea of the darkness that loomed over those sand dunes.
