Matana shook her head to all the questions about location he sneeringly asked her. She didn't feel bad about asking or rather offering. it just she had no answer to it.
"Eh, nope. Why do you say that? Just thought i could help." She frowned again looking off to her left shoe. "Are you going to keep me here all day, sir what your name." matana belatedly realized all this time hand she didn't know her captors name. "Hey whats your name." She hadn't said either thing in a snotty tone more an impatient one. Matana did have other things to do today and wish the guy would get on with what ever he planned to do with her. She wanted to explore the ruins not stand here talking to what was to her a boring adult.
She began to get fidgety and restless, let her eyes roam about. Matana tugged at loose strand of her black hair in an attempt to vent her frustration. It didn't work all she got for it was more pain. More than anything though she wanted him to let go of her arm. The throbbing had dulled but she did wanted to check her wrist for injury.
"I know little about you thus I cannot gauge what you will or will not do. I only observed you for about five minutes if not less that is not much time to make accurate assessments of anything. i usually watch for longer, at least a half hour." Matana had more patience then most of her kids of her age but even hers was weary thin. " Please let me go." She was whining a little but could they blame him.
Matana looked around both ways to see if anyone was coming not to free her but maybe give her a chance for her to run away. If she got half a chance she would bolt just a little looser and she could slip her hand out of his grip. what would she give for that chance.

Kaiba’s piercing crystal eyes did not miss one motion. He saw how the girl stared at her shoes when she questioned Kaiba’s words. Kaiba shook his head lightly. The girl was far too inexperienced and easy to read. It was amazing she had avoided the police for so long at her current skill level.
Kaiba’s words hadn’t carried any hidden meaning. They were pure mockery although perhaps he did not deliver the lines well enough for his intentions to come through. Or perhaps the girl was just dense or in any sense overly concerned about her secret. Kaiba didn’t expect her to know the whereabouts of any special place. He was pointing out that he needed no guide. However, it seemed that this girl did know the location of some hidden area. What was she guarding? What was she protecting?
He decided not to worry about the girl’s “secret garden”. Her business was her own and there was only one thing he needed to figure out. He didn’t care what it took, he must decipher the meaning of those hieroglyphics in the Domino Museum. There was no way this runt knew anything about those stone tablets.
What was he doing wasting his time with some kid? Still, Kaiba was not the sort of person who overlooked crimes made against him. This girl had tried to rob him. The act was pitiful and trivial since the goal was not accomplished. However, she should suffer a little bit for trying to steal what was his.
“You only observed me for five minutes? That’s plenty of time to create a basic profile for a person. A person cannot hide their true nature for long and if they do not suspect that they’re being watched, they will make no effort to disguise their character. You’re a thief. You must learn how to analyze people rapidly. Look at their clothes. Especially watch the way a person holds themself. Is their posture straight or is it bent over in fear? Does the person meet the eyes of all they approach or do they timidly avoid eye contact? What does the person carry? How does he speak to others? All of these context clues will help you determine a person’s personality. Uncovering the personality is crucial. It rules a person’s actions. If you can understand a person’s thoughts, you can predict their movements,” he explained logically.
He absently wondered if the girl was growing sick of his lectures. Perhaps she wasn’t extracting any knowledge from his words. Oh well. It’s her own loss if she refused to listen. In any case, he decided to revert back to the girl’s question.
“You asked me for my name, correct? Where are your manners? You should introduce yourself before inquiring about another’s identity. I could ask you your name but why waste both of our time? You’re a thief. You’re frail and feeble but you’re still a thief. That means you won’t tell me your real name. Even if I questioned you, you would just give me an alias. So tell me, if you don’t offer your name, why should I give you mine?” he asked loosely. He did not give the girl time to respond. He jumped right to the next issue.
“Let you go? Why should I? What have you done to earn your freedom?” he began coyly. “I think you need to exert a bit more effort. Your creative abilities have been less than impressive to say the very least. I asked you what you had to offer and you didn’t put any thought into answer. What if I told you your answer would determine your immediate future? Would you strain your brain a bit more then?” he questioned in a patronizing tone.

Matana was getting bored and dicided slightly different tack than anything else she had tried yet. she was going to get herself noticed and perhaps summon help at the same time. Looking down at the ground again and leting her short stature work to her advangtage sheilding herface as she prepared to put a turn to this game. " My name is Lapis and i will be free very soon." Her calm detremation was stronger than ever. It was not a request or even a question simply a statement of the facts. she said it in a soft voice not caringmuch if he heard her.
She was going to get free and soon. and if to she was going to make the people notice her. Her plan was almost certain to work, her child's body being her best advantage. if she wailed and screamed long enough and loudenough someone would come to see what was the matter. It was deadly simple and one of the most effective methods she knew. not a very digified one ofcourse but sacrifces must be made. There was little her captor could do to stop her as far as she knew. if the her gaint cator tried to silence her, he would only in crament himself worse.
If he set her free she would e out of there at the speed of light. if he did not well she would think of something.
Breathing in softly for a minite then letting it out. She set up a screaming wail that would in verably bring attention. Tears drip from her eyes on mental command. It was easy to cry when the reminder of the pain he had cuased her, welled up. Take that you mean brute she thought a little angery at her confinement.

“Oh crap,” Kaiba silently cursed as the girl delivered her death sentence. It was just as he feared. She would try to make a scene and Kaiba, stronger, taller, and all around more capable would appear to be the villain of that scenario. He apprehensively watched the child, waiting for the tears and shrieks that he knew would soon follow. The gears turned in his head. He needed to come up with a plan and fast. Releasing the girl on his own initiative was fine and he had planned to do so shortly. He was just waiting to hear her answer. He had been bored and so he wanted to see what her brain could conjure under pressure and stress. Also, he hadn’t been particularly looking forward to this Egyptian excavation. Perhaps toying with the kid was another attempt at procrastination. In any case, releasing the girl on his own initiative was fine but he would be d*mned if this runt got the best of him. Kaiba would crush any opponent he encountered. He would not leave any challenger unscathed. He would show this kid his power.
He raced through his options. Deeming the girl a thief was pointless. He had no proof. It’s true that given the proper time he would be able to convince anyone of his status and thus his words but immediately...He’d be in trouble. He could insist that the girl was his sister, causing a ruckus again but again there was the matter of proof. She would deny the claim and all would fall for her tears. Kaiba had to acknowledge that she looked much cuter than him and for some strange reason certain people longed to protect those that appeared helpless. Well...There was one final option. If he wanted his scheme to work he would have to act quickly. Her screams were quickly drawing attention.
Kaiba had studied the immune system well. He could swiftly and efficiently strike a blow to the head and leave an opponent unconscious. If he knocked the kid out, he could lie and say that his sister had another fit. He would assert that his sister needed fresh air and he’d take her outside. He’d leave the museum and move her somewhere else. Of course he wouldn’t do anything as overly dramatic as locking her away. He just needed to remove her from the public eye. Her advantage would be lost and there would be nothing she could do.
Kaiba sighed. He had already payed for his ticket and he had hoped to resolve the issue of the ancient hieroglyphics today. Still, the museum wasn’t going anywhere and he did have more than enough money to pay for another ticket. Kaiba’s pride came first. He needed to teach the girl a lesson. Although, he probably would end up releasing her soon after she regained consciousness so he could still observe the artifacts the museum had to offer today.
His plan was hatched in less than five seconds. Kaiba’s did not hesitate. With his free arm, he released a fraction of his power and sent his fist plummeting towards the girl’s cranium. Of course he squeezed the arm he was restraining ahead of time. He would limit her movements and make it nearly impossible for her to dodge the blow. It was alright. Few people were staring at Kaiba yet and he moved so quickly that his actions should go undetected. It was fine. His scheme was going to work.

Matana had heard the sigh of the larger teen. She glanced up but did not cease the screaming wail coming from her mouth. She increased the noise she was making by a bit. Her throat was burning when she took a breath of air. She knew she just had to keep this up for a while longer and she would be free of her own accord. Her tears cloud her eyes some what and made focusing harder. She noticed movement out the corner of her eye, a person passing distracted her for a bit.
Why wasn't he letting me go she thought wearily why wasn't he afraid of what trouble my noise could cause him. Perhaps she had misjudged him again and he was just waiting for her run out of air to berate her again. Her arm hurt fairly badly at the moment adding force to her tears and what clear thoughts she had assumed and guess that he was doing it on purpose.
Matana was getting a little light headed and dizzy despite taking fairly regular breathes. She was not thinking straight and was mildly surprised but not overly concerned when she saw the giant ball his fist. On instinct she ducked but was not able to get down as far as she might have. Her trapped arm lowered downwards with difficulty and then stopped . it left her dangling still well with reach. Wondering briefly what he was doing she hung crouching there all but helpless and at his mercy.
Her right arm was as a consequence slightly higher than herself when she felt a sudden pain and gasped. The world spun in circles before her eyes. The blow stung and for a fleeting moment she looked up into the face of her captor. Her last thought before fading dimness was surprise at what was happened. He had hit her, and she was stunned.

Kaiba was impressed. Perhaps the girl was more observant than he gave her credit for. Despite the tears blurring her vision and the pain clouding her mind, she had been able to foresee Kabia’s attack. Of course she saw it too late. Kaiba’s grip was too powerful. She moved too slowly and thus was unable to fully dodge his blow. The cut wasn’t as clean as he liked but it had accomplished its purpose. After a brief moment of tottering the girl had collapsed. Now she rested at his feet, completely at his mercy. However, he did acknowledge her skill. Even as her consciousness faded away, she had managed to look up into his face. Still, her gaze accomplished nothing with the possible exception of confirming Kaiba’s assault.
Intensely focused blue eyes darted left and right, making certain that no one witnessed his crime. The bland faces surrounding Kaiba only reflected concern. It seemed that no one saw the “accident”. Kaiba leaned forward and picked up the kid. He cradled her body in his arms and donned the upset mask of a worried brother.
A crowd of people worked their way towards Kaiba. “What is going on here?” an older man demanded.
Kaiba smiled apologetically, mellowing his eyes with sorrow. “I’m very sorry, Sir. It’s my little sister. She’s been feeling a bit weak lately. She had another attack. She should be fine if she gets some fresh air,” he said in a sweet and innocent voice. Kaiba felt sick to his intestines. Sure, it was easy to play the part of an idiot but it felt horrendous. D*mn that girl for making him act brainless.
The aged man authoritatively stepped forward and examined the girl with the analytical eyes of a surgeon. “Her breathing’s normal. She should be just fine, young man. I’m sorry about your sister,” he said gently.
“Thank you for your concern,” Kaiba responded with pretense sincerity while he forced himself to grin brightly. D*mn he hated this role. “I’ll just move her outside,” he said kindly while turning away from the crowd and stepping towards the exit.
“I wonder how long it will take her to regain consciousness. Hopefully I didn’t hit her too hard. Just how strong was the blow she received?” he questioned. Kaiba understood the girl could be out cold anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. He really hoped she would arise soon. He didn’t want to waste the rest of his day looking after the kid’s body.

Post by Ishizu Ishtar on Apr 28, 2009 22:32:51 GMT -5
As Ishizu was exiting her office she noticed that the Cairo Museum had gathered quite a bit of visitors since her tour to Domino City, Japan. She was glad for the sake of the museum, and for the people of Egypt. The people of the world had always been fascinated by the mysterious of Egypt since the time of the Roman Empire. However, this fascination grew as Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Then once again the world became enthralled with Egypt when Pegasus discovered the origin of Duel Monsters. I am honestly not surprised that more people are wanting to travel to Egypt to see where their favorite game started.
She rounded a corner of one part of the museum then she stopped, and watched a very curious scene before her. Ishizu had just come upon Kaiba Seto holding a small girl by her right wrist. She waited for the right moment to approach him. Interesting from what I felt from Kaiba's aura when we first met he does not seem like the type of person who would waste his time with just about anyone. The girl must have got his attention for some reason. No matter I must wait for the right time to approach him.
So Ishizu continued to monitor the scene before her seeing if she could gather any clues about why Kaiba was so interested in this girl. She was obviously crying for some reason, but Ishizu could not tell the reason for it. Soon enough though Kaiba made his move to make her unconscious, and was quite successful at it. Ishizu looked around to see if any one of the tourists around them had noticed anything, and was a bit relieved to see that they were too busy looking at the artifacts. Now is my chance. I must go over to him now before anyone sees them
Ishizu moved from her spot near the corner, and walked straight towards Kaiba as well as the mysterious girl he was holding still by her right wrist. As she walked towards them she looked around once more to make sure no one was staring at the scene. However, she noticed an elder man walking towards Kaiba which paniced Ishizu for a moment till she heard his explaination. Interesting. I know Kaiba does not have a sister so why is he claiming this girl as a sibling? I suppose I shall see when I finally talk to him, but I must work fast. It seems Kaiba is making his way to leave already.
Finally Ishizu had come up behind Kaiba Seto, and she stood ever so still not making a sound with her back straight, and head held up high as she looked at him. "Good evening Kaiba Seto, and welcome back to your place of origin."

A chill ran down Kaiba’s spine when he heard Ishizu’s greeting. He did not need to turn around to confirm the woman’s identity. Her voice and eery words had been enough. Only one other person sounded like this and reeked of occult nonsense.
Again Kaiba cursed himself for dropping his guard and not noticing another’s presence. Although, knowing Ishizu, perhaps his attentiveness wasn’t the problem. Ishizu was always light on her feet. She seemed to be the type that was quite stealthy when need be. Perhaps her aim had been to startle Kaiba.
If that was her game that was fine. Kaiba would not allow Ishizu to see him flinch. He would be as calm and composed as ever.
“Ishizu, how many times do I need to tell you that I don’t believe in this occult babble? I was born in Domino City, not Egypt,” he said in a condescending, confident tone. He laughed cruelly. “Let me guess. Next you’ll say that you looked into the future and foresaw my arrival here. See? I’m psychic too,” he added with the utmost sarcasm. He kept his voice down so that the other visitors would not hear him. He needed to play the part of the worried brother a bit longer if he wished to escape without trouble.
Kaiba debated whether or not he should push past Ishizu and leave the museum. As tempting as it was to leave the deranged woman to her mystic mumbo jumbo, Kaiba decided against departing. Although seeing Ishizu was always an unsettling experience, Kaiba had to admit that he had more or less come to Egypt to see her. Firstly, he wanted some questions answered. Secondly, he wanted to convince her that her ideas were ludicrous. No sensible person would accept them. Kaiba surely wouldn’t fall prey to her fantasies.
He glanced at the girl a bit nervously although his eyes retained their untouched and unphased appearance. Although he wanted to speak with Ishizu, he needed to take the girl’s condition into consideration. As soon as she woke up, she’d start screaming again and the kid was relatively perceptive. He doubted the same trick would work twice.
Kaiba sighed. This conversation was far more important than any nameless runt. It was fine. He had made his point. She understood that she was at his mercy. She would comprehend that she escaped only because Kaiba allowed it.
He delicately placed the girl on the ground. Despite what others thought, he was not a cruel person. He did not want to be responsible for injuring a small child even if that small child was a thief.
Kaiba contemplated asking Ishizu what she wanted but he didn’t want to appear too interested in her words. She had greeted him. It was up to her to start the conversation. He would wait patiently until then.

OOC: (Sorry the post is not that great I haven't been feeling my best today. It's 336 words so don't worry.)
Ishizu waited ever so patiently for Kaiba to turn around, and acknowledge her. She was slightly glad that she had caught him by surprise, but did not show it on her face. Her expression was void of emotion as she continued to stand still only a few inches away from him. If any of his competition had seen him at this very moment they would probably be having a good chuckle. Imagine Kaiba afraid to turn around, and face a woman addressing him. Such a thing was rare to catch the President of Kaiba Corp., and one of the finest dueslists in the world off guard. Finally when he spoke to her, and his comments caused her raise an eyebrow.
”If I were you Kaiba I would not mock the powers of my Sennen Tauk for you have witnessed its great power already first hand.” She said eying him carefully. Ishizu's eyes quickly darted to the the girl that was hanging limp in his arms, and wandered just what exactly he was going to do with her. Would he put her down, or would he suggest they go some where's out of the public eye. One thing was for sure though. Ishizu did not wish to embarrass herself, or the museum so she had to move this discussion, and the girl some where's else.
"Kaiba if I were you I would pick the girl back up, and follow me. This is not the proper place for such a discussion. If there was not so many tourists around the museum I would not mind. However, I cannot risk a scandal for this place nor can you risk ruining your name again. I have an office not too far from here. Once we get there you can place the girl in a chair. From there our discussion shall begin. Does that work out for you?" Ishizu waitned patiently for Kaiba's answer while she glanced around, and noticed some tourists had concerned faces as they looked in their direction.

Ishizu sure took her sweet time replying but Kaiba had expected no less from the most annoying woman on the planet. She was far more troublesome than this petty thief. People with true ambitions could be quite dangerous even if their aspirations involved nonsensical topics like reincarnation and magical items. Actually, the fanatical could cause the most mayhem in the name of some dubious person, creature, or ideal.
As deceptive and unpredictable as Ishizu was, Kaiba did not fear her. In the end, she was just a sneaky woman with some tricks up her sleeve. She posed no possible threat.
He sneered after Ishizu reprimanded his demeaning tone in the face of the supposedly mystical items. “All I witnessed was some cheap illusion. If I wanted entertainment, I could hire a magician and pull off the same trick, he said haughtily although his voice was a bit more strained than usual. Although Kaiba understood his experience was merely an illusion, it wasn’t an illusion he would be forgetting any time soon. It had felt so real. One moment he had been standing in the Domino City Museum and the next, he had been plunged into some past event. He had floated in midair and watched this man that looked so similar to himself summon a blue eyes white dragon from a stone tablet and defeat the pharaoh’s servant. He saw the resulting flames engulf the terrain. It had been a rather unsettling vision to say the very least. Unfortunately, the proud Ishizu wasn’t content to let Kaiba witness past events just once. Despite Kaiba’s cries of protest, she had forced him back to that duel once more. Kaiba sincerely hoped that Ishizu wasn’t planing on playing more mind games.
“So what if she does?” Kaiba steeled himself. “An illusion is just an illusion. It fades. Obelisk the Tormentor is worth a few mildly unpleasant encounters with a maniacal woman.” Although Kaiba hated to give Ishizu any sort of credit, he admitted that he owed her a debt of gratitude. She was the person that foolishly handed him an Egyptian God. Kaiba repressed a snicker. He couldn’t believe she actually expected him to return the card. She was far too trusting.
Kaiba loathed the arrogance with which Ishizu spoke. It appeared she was quite confident in her museum setting although she always seemed rather egotistical.
Saying nothing, Kaiba picked up the girl. He didn’t take orders from anyone but he acknowledged Ishizu’s wisdom. He didn’t want his reputation to be stained as he had spent many years building it up. Also, any conversation with Ishizu needed to be private. Kaiba didn’t want people to think he associated with lunatics. If they were in a secluded area, Kaiba could yell at Ishizu and ridicule her preposterous theories in peace.
“Show me where this office is,” he commanded in an authoritative voice, finally turning around to face Ishizu.

It was clear to Ishizu that Kaiba was weighing his options within his mind. Attempting to gage whether or not he should leave immediately, or follow her back towards her office. During their last meeting they had the privacy of the entire museum after it closed for the night in Domino City. So Ishizu did not have to worry about the wrong person learning things that they should have never known. However, since the unveiling of her latest findings more, and more people became quite curious about why her ancestors had such power. Ishizu was willing to bet that a few of the people who watched the news probably wanted that kind of power for themselves. Like her brother Marik.
When Kaiba did finally answer her Ishizu frowned upon hearing the power of the Sennen Tauk referred to as “cheap illusion.” In any case she knew that this was his attempt at not convincing her that the power of the Sennen items, the stone tablet, and the prophecy was not real. It was Kaiba's poor endeavor to convince himself that none of what he had experienced so far was real.
Ishizu had a feeling that the reason why he tried to so hard to tell himself it was not real was because Kaiba feared that it was. It does not matter right now though. The time will soon come when he will have to accept it. When that happens the fate of all civilization will be at stake.
By the time he had turned around the frown upon Ishizu's face had disappeared as she once again regained her composure. She would not show such emotions not only in public, but around Kaiba as well. So instead of a smile or smirk Ishizu simply nodded, and turned around facing the direction she had just come from.
”Please follow me Kaiba. It is just down this hallway, and away from the ears of unwelcome listeners.” Ishizu started off for her office at a slow pace so that Kaiba would have enough time to pick up the girl, and so that they did not look suspicious. Instead it would look like they were helping the mysterious girl.
